Today I drank too much coffee and made weird coffee-fueled art.
A few days ago I woke up and somehow almost immediately decided that a good way to become a more active Instagram-er would be to take one picture every hour — sort of a documentary of a day in my life, in pictures. It went well… for a few hours, anyway.
“8am #adayinpics”
A hotter-than-normal Michigan summer morning, therefore, fan on full speed.
“9am #adayinpics”
Eggs for breakfast with the morning email scan-through.
“10am #adayinpics”
Tiny potted plant gardening.
“11am #adayinpics”
Running work errands, sweating profusely, examining the beautiful city I live in.
“12pm #adayinpics”
Heading back home, stopping to admire the potential of a once-abandoned building that’s already being realized.
“1pm #adayinpics #resume”
Working on my resume, attempting to create an image of myself on paper that shows my own potential.
“4pm #adayinpics #walden”
A resume rest and Walden in the living room.
“6pm #adayinpics #naptime #hidinginsidethehorribleweather”
Finally retreating back to the relative comfort of my bedroom and box fan.

“drive-by christmas lights”
http://instagr.am/p/S1Y0QvrFRh/
This was a mostly failed attempt at taking a picture of this house in my city that has its entire yard/house filled with lights and christmas decorations. I say mostly failed, because christmas lights look beautiful even when blurry.

“halloween grins”
Even if your neighbors consider you too old to trick-or-treat, you can still carve scary faces into giant orange squash. Happy Halloween!
“instagram sky”
I had my dad pull over in a unfamiliar neighborhood and shouted “instagram sky!” as I snapped this photo. There may be conflicting opinions out there about Instagram, but we can all agree that because of it we pay more attention to the beauty around us.
“quarter machine keeper”

When was the last time you bought something out of those quarter machines at your local grocery store? Next time you’re there – and I don’t care how old you are! – get something for yourself. It just might make your day a little brighter.

Don’t be afraid to write it down.
